NicksMama-Zack's Mama Too
My homeschooling days have ended and I've just discovered that an agency nearby is hiring ABA Tutors to work with families with children with autism. I've been reading up on it and it looks like a very interesting and rewarding job. Anyone familiar with ABA tutoring?
Crimson Wife
There was a thread on the Learning Challenges subforum that I would recommend reading: http://forums.welltrainedmind.com/topic/522004-may-i-ask-a-question-here-about-aba-therapy Other careers to look into: Academic Language Therapy: https://www.altaread.org/membership.asp Educational Therapy: https://www.aetonline.org/CareerInET.html
myfunnybunch
I worked in a variety of therapy programs for children with autism, including a strictly ABA program, and implemented some of the ABA programming and techniques with my own daughter. I also volunteered in her ABA classroom at school. Many moons ago, now, so I expect that there have been changes/advances in ABA. :) Do you have any specific questions I might be able to help with? Alexigail
I used to provide ABA before I became a SAHM. I think your experience would depend a lot on who you're working for and who your students are. It can be rewarding, definitely. It can also be stressful.
