Colleen
Blergh! I am NOT enjoying my iMac nearly as much as I thought I would. Thought I'd be thrilled with the ease of use after a PC, but no. One frustration is iPhoto. I plain do not get it. So your pics are in your iPhoto library and….then what? For example, I want to upload & print some photos via the Costco photo center. I used to (with my PC) be able to just put in the location of my photos and they'd upload, no issues. But you can't do that with iPhoto. So….? I know it can't be this challenging. Help, please! What am I missing? Thanks in advance for any help you can offer!

Colleen
File > export > choose size/ quality > name the file> choose location to save it(pictures, desktop, etc) Sorry…? I'm not sure if you mean I should be able to click on the pics on iPhoto and do this, or….?
mamajag
Yes, click on the pic (or pics) you want to upload, and to the file>export thing. It'll allow you to save your photos in an upload friendly manner.
Plink
I can upload to anywhere from my Mac easily. Do you know where your photo files are? I know that sounds silly, but there is a file named Pictures - that isn't what you want for easy upload (although it technically contains your iphoto directory). Continue down the list until you come to Photos under the Media heading. Click it and you will see your iPhoto folders. HTH!!!
Tess in the Burbs
I don't like iPhoto. I created my own folders and upload from Nikon transfer or canon transfer to the folder I want. Dh swears I'm missing something amazing with iPhoto but I haven't experienced it lol.
DawnM
I LOVE iphoto! It is so easy. I upload the camera to it and it auto loads and separates by events for me. I don't like iPhoto. lmrich
Go to the costco site and just slid your photos over. It should not be difficult.
mommymilkies
The new iPhoto massively sucks. They are discontinuing it with the new OS update and will have a new program in its place-probably free, I'd assume. I can't wait. The older iPhoto was ok, but I'm hating this one. Mrs Mungo
I agree that iphoto is pretty clunky; it is not my favorite mac program by far.

Word Nerd
I export photos that I want to print or share to a separate folder on my desktop (in iPhoto, go to File, Export). It makes it much easier to find and upload them to Facebook, PicMonkey, Walgreens, etc.
Suzanne in ABQ
Exporting also allows you to compress the photo, making the file smaller and easier/faster to upload. Use this if you just need it in a small format.
