It would only be once a week and I would like to do some kind of hands on experiment, have a read aloud (picture book or let's read and find out kind of book), and something to do as a journal entry (observations and hypothesis kind of stuff). The kids loved it and are asking what I'm teaching this fall. :) I used the Elemental Science: Intro to Science. http://www.elementalscience.com/intro-to-science/ It has all the things you described.
