ACT Next - what says the Hive about the "new" ACT

So I called the ACT folks this morning because I needed to reschedule a test date. While on hold there was a mention of "new" things that would not affect the June 14 test, but apparently will affect future tests.

 

I realize that this stuff changes all the time. I am just wondering if those of you more aware of the details could share any insight.

 

Will there be a need to adjust the way students prepare for the test?

 

If the computer based test is available to my student, why or why not would we want to select that option?

 

Just curious as to your thoughts. The person I eventually spoke to this morning said that this was honestly an "unexpected big reveal" for those working the phones as well, and all she could say was that there would now be some places to actually write in answers rather than merely circle options. I'm sure what my student will ask first is, "So, does that mean the test will be easier or harder?"
