Sew happily ever after
What curriculum would you use? Obviously anything lit based isn't going over very well. I guess I need suggestions for quick, short reading passages, get it done type of curriculum.
Mystie
Would using audio books for the reading work instead of having him read them to himself?

Diviya
You could take a look at Readers Odyssey. She has great ideas for how to tailor to a child who doesn't like to read.
Mandy in TN
Textbooks are an obvious choice. ;)
foxbridgeacademy
We will be switching a lot of our learning to audio/video this next year. I'm tired of reading out loud to my Dyslexic child.... Right now what we're trying out is : Education Portal (not worth it unless you got in on the beta testing price) PBS Learning (lots of Science) http://unctv.pbslearningmedia.org/ Documentaries on You Tube EIW and Killgallons for writing (very small amount of reading) We're hoping to get a new diagnosis for the LD so we can get Ally (like audible) for free. I think K12 HO is easily broken up into smaller reading segments RSO Bio 2 didn't have a huge amount of text, DS was mostly able to do it himself. Using more workbooks would reduce the amount of reading but would up the boring factor.

SunnyDays
Maybe some of the easier Coursera or Great Courses options, learning through video?? If you still want to do something literature based, maybe try short stories and excerpts... maybe something like Mosdos Press?
