Anyone have some favorite/classic children's books in Spanish...preferably some that would ease us into learning the language? We are diving into Spanish this year - spending lots of time with bilingual friends, watching Salsa Spanish, and doing a number of other games & activities... I'm planning on using my library for simple picture books in Spanish...but would like to purchase a few great books. Any recommendations?

Here are some favorites I can think of off the top of my head:

Freight Train / Tren de Carga (good for colors)

Brown Bear Brown Bear / Oso Pardo (colors & animals)

Where is the Green Sheep? / Donde Esta la Oveja Verde (near, far, fat, skinny, moon, sun, some colors, as well as the Where is? question)

My Very First Book of Numbers (Spanish Version) by Eric Carle (fruits, counting)

Slangman Series: Cinderella, Beauty & the Beast (occasional Spanish words)

We tried to do Very Hungry Caterpillar in Spanish but most of the words were too advanced for us so we are saving it. (I'm just a step or two ahead of the kids)

We started reading these for my K6'r but my 2nd child who just turned 4 probably has picked up on more from these books. My K'er seems to be more engaged with the CD's we use.
