lewelma 18,864
Move along.... nothing to see here.Actually, since the new board does not allow tagging by anyone but the OP, I am having trouble keeping track of all the big posts I have written since Nov 2012. So I have decided to keep a running list here so that I can just send people to this post and not have to keep tracking down all the things I have written. So, just ignore me while I go troll through all my 3000 posts to see what is valuable, and what is really not. It is going to be a mess for a while as I edit bit by bit over time.Ruth in NZBig Picture GoalsDeveloping advanced reading skills in scienceScience activities - setting goals and evaluating usefulness of activities posts 2, 3, 4, 14Content, skill, and attitude goals for K-12 post 58General ramblings in this thread: Science again...someone shoot me nowIndividualized plans for authentic learning Hands-on science plan for 7th grade using a discovery approach rather than follow-the-directions kit approachAdvanced science for a dyslexic childSystematic unschooling for a student who dislikes most science programsDesigning a program using only resources you have and adapting for travel opportunitiesLearning physics and chemistry under the umbrella of astronomy: post 15Studying biology and earth science by way of gorillas and snakes post 16Creating high school 'Science in Society' courses for non-STEM kids: posts 37 and 38Physics for Poets: my attempt at a living books curriculum for physicsDefining the role you have to play. 7th grade scienceIntegrating language arts with scienceUsing bigfoot documentaries to seriously study pseudoscience post 21conflicting thoughts about interest led vs having a planResources Help me assemble a complete list of science curricula/Resources I use: post 62, 64, and 65 Earth Science, Chemistry, and Physics spinesEarth science videos we have seenHands-on ideas for Bio and Earth Science using nature studyHands on without a curriculumScientific investigationsScientific investigations with my 12 and 9 year oldScientific investigations with my 11 and 8 year oldShorter examples of scientific investigations: post 47, 48, 54, an 61, 65, 66 (and others on this thread)Easy biology projectsHow much help is too much help in a science fair projectOrganizing a Science FairTopical DiscussionsAnswering questions about evolutionNonscience stuffHow to work through progressively more challenging fictionMy evaluation of numerous writing curriculaDifferentiating between unschooling and not educating

Chrysalis Academy 47,557
Posting so I can find this forever . . . did you title it nm just so us looky-loos would find it? You have to know I click on every thread you post in, Ruth! ;) :p
OneStepAtATime 52,889
I think this is the first post titled nm that I have immediately linked for future viewing before even reading past the first couple of sentences.

lewelma 18,864
Thanks everyone. Will change the title once I am done and the thread falls off the front page. It just seemed a bit presumptuous of me to make a big thread all about *me*! And yes, Rose, I did wonder how many looky loos there would be; woke up to find 270 views for a nm thread! So you were clearly not the only one going snooping. (-: So much for a low profile. Off tramping for a few days, but will continue the clean up when I get back.

lewelma 18,864
I should probably go and finish all the sorting. I got kind of tired out. 3000 posts is a lot to sort through! I did change the title for a day, and then when it popped to the top again, I got all embarrassed. So I might just keep it as my nm thread.
Chrysalis Academy 47,557
Silly Ruth! You should rename it "Ruth's Pearls" or "Ruth's Wise Sayings" or something. lewelma 18,864
Thanks guys for the kind words. I was thinking about doing a session at the WTM summer conference, but I really don't have time. However, I sat for about 2 hours staring at the wall thinking about what I would talk about, and I came up with so much good stuff. Perhaps while I am in school holidays I might have time to write....
