KungFuPanda
They're installing four windows today. I'll have them back 2-3 times before the whole house is done. I'm thinking $10 apiece, but I can't remember what or IF I tipped last time they were here. I'm pretty sure I did, but that was 6 months ago. Amy in NH
Nothing. You should be paying them a decent wage through your installation contract.
umsami
I wouldn't tip for something like that, but I would offer a cold drink or coffee/tea depending on the climate.
G5052
We offer drinks and snacks if the workers come multiple times or for an extended period. If they are easy to work with and clean up after themselves, then we tip. DH was in the trades for years, and we always tip.
katilac
Drinks and snacks.
Wilma
Ooh, I hope I wasn't supposed to have tipped the window installation guys.
Hikin' Mama
My son used to install windows. I don't think they ever got tipped nor were they expecting to be tipped.
elfgivas
when we had our windows done last year, we didn't tip. but we did order pizza a few times, and i made muffins each morning. both were quite appreciated. fwiw, ann
marbel
We've never tipped either. But we will offer drinks and food if they're over for a long time. I never knew we were supposed to tip. I figure those guys make a good wage, not like waitresses or hotel housekeepers? Am I wrong?
RootAnn
I just made brownies & packed them a tasty snack for them to take back with them when they were done. Never would have thought to tip them.
KungFuPanda
::ducking:: I tipped them. I think last time I just gave them coffee and doughnuts. I can't remember, but I didn't bake or brew today. Every time I have an extra grand I get a few more windows, so they'll be back a few times before my house is finished. Also, I overheard one guy in the driveway tell the other that "It's that pretty redhead's house again." So, they earned it.
Anne
I have windows going in here, too. Never thought to feed them or tip them. Now thinking about a doughnut run in the morning.... And how much ought they to be tipped???? Aaarggghhh.
