Computer gurus - any ideas for me? IE issues.

Recommended Posts

This morning when I try to open Internet Explorer (and only IE) it flashes on for a brief time, closes and pops up a box 'View Downloads - Windows Internet Explorer' with the subtitle 'view and track your downloads'. This box has a list of files that ask to be opened or saved. These are files are for search (google, yahoo, bing) I tried changing that to see if it was a google generated issue.  No amount of saving or clicking here changes anything. I have reset IE to default with no changes, restored the computer itself to a date last week with no changes. Nothing I'm doing is letting me open IE or getting rid of this box. I can open and use Chrome and Mozilla with no problems.

Any wisdom for me?

It is very, very possible that my little guy 'helped' me this morning   but I have no idea what he may or may not have done.
