The best way to start out grain free is to find "replacements" for the grains you are having trouble giving up.  Figure out where you usually get your grains and find something else to eat instead.


For us, it was baked goods, so we found a bunch of recipes based on almond flour. (We ate way too many baked goods that first year, but by the time we started phasing them out, we had the rest of our diet sorted out, so it wasn't such a challenge.) For sandwiches, we use lettuce wraps. 


Then get rid of all the grains from your pantry. Everything: gone! If they aren't there, you won't be as able to succumb to temptation.  :)
