elegantlion
Ds is 16 1/2. He's thin and never had a huge appetite when he was younger. He was 9 before he could finish a Happy Meal. I told him today there will come a time when he's not hungry all the time. Will there? Please tell me I didn't lie to him.
icollectkids
my 13yo just started eating me out of the house. He's a bean pole. I have no idea where he puts it!!
PinkyandtheBrains.
I think it happens when they exit the teen years, but I'm not certain. I'll let you know if we ever get there.....

Tammi K
I don't know if teenage boys ever get full. But, i can tell you when teen boys stop eating everything in sight.....the day they turn 20. Then they are young men who eat everything in sight!
elegantlion
At least he likes ramen so he'll be able to eat in college.
Maplecat
My brother was in his early 20's when we went on a family cruise. He ate two breakfasts, lunches, snacks, dinners, and snacked at a midnight buffet. He's said it was the first time in almost a decade where he wasn't hungry. bzymom
:svengo: So he should just buy a grocery store. I think this is the best financial strategy. Even with the mortgage and staffing, you should come out ahead.

Karen in CO
My ds eats more like you would expect from a guy his size these days, but it was scary when he was a teen. My favorite example is the day he and his friend came in one afternoon to make a snack. They ate a dozen eggs, a pound of bacon and a loaf of bread toasted with jelly. Two hours later they each ate a large pizza for dinner. The boys put away a lot of food. Good luck and enjoy.

gaillardia
Our youngest of 4 sons puts his food in his hollow legs. He will eat 2-3 helpings of cereal every morning and the bowl is kind of big. I don't always prepare him lunch but he eats lots of leftovers. He always serves himself last at dinner so that everyone else can at least get one serving. He lifts weights and weighs 145 but doesn't look it, he's kind of tall, and definitely looks fit. Our other sons did not eat like this so he either really likes our cooking or he has a big appetite and high metabolism. I don't know if they grow out of it and maybe it depends on their activity level.

Melissa in Australia
mine were no longer so hungry at 18. it was a bit hard adjusting cooking quantities. I had lots of leftovers for a few weeks.
Pawz4me
My boys are strange--they've never been really big eaters. My youngest isn't a really huge eater, but the oldest -- oh. my. goodness. We call him the walking black hole. He walks anywhere near food and it gets sucked in. ;) He's almost 18 .5 and I haven't noticed any lessening of consumption yet. lovinmomma
My ds8 never gets full. I have literally never ever heard him say that he was full. Ever. He asks for food constantly, and I can't allow him to eat 24/7 because I simply can't afford it. He is very lean and has a ton of muscle for his age. Oh, to have his metabolism. I don't know what I'm going to do when he's a teenager if he already eats like this. We do allow him to have more helpings, etc. because if we didn't he would become underweight. Lolly
yeah, I'm thinking late 30s or 40s...or maybe around 70? But, no you did not lie to him. definitely by the time he is 120. :leaving:
FaithManor
This would be my dream since my boys are 14, 15.5, and 17. However, I have become convinced that I may never see this in my lifetime!

Night Elf
ds17 eats twice as much as DH but isn't a snacker really. He eats 3 meals a day with one extra like a large bowl of cereal.
Library Momma
When my DS was 8 I found him in the kitchen having just eaten an entire rotisserie chicken that I had bought for the family dinner. He is constantly hungry and could eat all day long. I shudder to think how he'll eat when he's a teenager.

shawthorne44
My husband is 43 and he says he is always hungry. Once in a blue moon he is also full. Note, he is full and hungry simultaneously. Not very often though, I think he defines full as what I call "Oh My! that Thanksgiving dinner was good. I need to take a nap"
