Kareni
Is there a free online source for simple probability problems? I'm looking for problems ranging from: If there is a 2/3 probability of something happening, what is the probability that it will not happen? to Six black socks and four white socks are in a drawer. If you blindly pull out two socks, what is the probability that you have two black socks? Many thanks for your help. Regards, Kareni
redsquirrel
Try this, maybe: http://www.regentsprep.org/regents/math/algebra/math-algebra.htm I have no idea if these are 'simple' problems, but this is the site my son is using for test prep, and it has a section on probability. Emerald Stoker
There is the Year 5 interactive material at MEP: http://www.cimt.plymouth.ac.uk/projects/mepres/primary/interactive/programsindex.htm
hollyhock
MEP has units on probability in their Year 7 and 8 stuff, too, and possibly higher grades as well.
Emerald Stoker
I had another thought; the University of Waterloo Centre for Education in Mathematics has an archive of graded problems here: http://www.cemc.uwaterloo.ca/resources/potw.php . They are stranded as well as graded; each probability problem has "DP" (for data and probability) in its label.
