Clpretzel
I have a 6ds who is obsessed with numbers/math, but dislikes reading. I'm fine with his reading progress, but wish he liked reading more. Today I got out a set of some Nora Gaydos readers focused on math concepts. It was an immediate hit. Does anyone know of any other readers that would appeal to a mathy kid?
Arcadia
My kids had like some of the MathStart books. Another is the Step into reading Math books They read the Math Matters series too, Libraries usually have them ETA: The Young Math book series might interest him too but it might be harder for him to read by himself. The libraries usually have copies too. They are out of print.
blondeviolin
We did popcorn reading for Life of Fred chapters. They are short, silly, and mathy.
Tracy
There are wonderful book lists at www.livingmath.net.
Incognito
Tang has many books that might suit. We enjoy them as library books. Some are simpler and some more involved than others (lots of things about breaking numbers up, skip counting, etc.). I don't recall which does what, but reviews would tell you. http://www.amazon.com/Math-Fables-Lessons-That-Count/dp/0439453992/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1390599995&sr=8-1&keywords=tang+math+fables
