ereks mom
It opens my saved PDF files just fine, just not the ones online. It did this once before and dh (a pretty decent amateur IT man) changed something and got it working again. This time, though, he can't figure it out. Firefox is also installed on my laptop (OS is Windows 7) and it has no problem with PDF files. I guess I should switch to Firefox, but I have all my settings, favorites, etc. set up in IE (currently running IE 11). Any suggestions as to how to fix this? klmama
Sorry, I'm not sure where or what; dh fixed it for me after the IE 11 update confused things. I'll try to ask him tomorrow to let you know, if you haven't already found the answer. It might be something under tools and internet options, though, maybe under advanced. Chelle in MO
Hmmm...just this week, mine stopped opening PDFs in Firefox. I can open things fine from my phone.
ereks mom
I have a suspicion that it was the update to IE 11 that messed things up & the last time it was the update to IE 10. I just set IE to NOT do automatic updates because the new browsers are ways buggy ay first. Thanks for any help!
chiguirre
That happened to me with IE 10 and I needed to update Adobe Reader. That fixed it (or maybe they unbugged IE simultaneously). Good luck!
ereks mom
I ininstalled & reinstalled Adobe Reader XI when this first happened. It didn't help. :(

klmama
Sorry, it was Adobe Reader that fixed it here.
Word Nerd
My suggestion: get Chrome or Firefox and import your favorites. Try it out for a week or so, adjust the settings to your liking, and after you are more comfortable with it, give IE the boot.
