Liz CA
Dh is employed with a company that provides him with a work vehicle. We returned from a work related event this evening and I wanted to offer to drive since he was tired but we decided against it since I am not on the company policy. However, someone once told us that it is the vehicle that is insured, not the driver...so what does this mean?
gardenmom5
when dh occasionally had a company owned vehicle, I did NOT drive it, because company policy was employee's only. I wasn't authorized and if anything had happened, it would have been our dime.
aggie96
My dad's (middle management, then later upper management) company had a policy that no one other than employees were allowed to drive the truck, not just because the vehicle was insured. This policy was in place to protect company from personal injury stuff. They were VERY strict about it.
Lara in Colo
I would be hesitant to drive it, but if you want to be sure, call your insurance agent and see if YOUR policy covers you (no matter what you drive)
zoobie
You'll need to check with his company. My father's company vehicle is not to be driven by anyone else. He would get fired if he let anyone drive it. His company is very clear about the rules. Everyone undergoes annual trainings.
Tap
I can drive dhs company car but they had me submit my license when he got it so they could specifically add me to the policy.
readinmom
I did until the day I found out I was pregnant with dd. I was going through a drive through atm, hit the yellow pole and totaled the side of the truck.\ I told him I had two surprises for him that day! planner
Yes, almost every day. I am required to submit a copy of my license yearly. We also pay a monthly fee for insurance, maintenance, and fuel but it's well worth it. I've even wrecked it and they still let me keep driving their vehicles.
