I've got a field trip with ds today, so we're heading out soon for that.

My dad has been regularly checking my mom's sugar (morning, before meals, and evenings), and she hasn't needed any insulin since coming home from the hospital. She is having swelling in her ankles which says her kidneys may not be doing well.  I asked her how much water she is drinking and she said probably not enough. I told her to try drinking more and see if that helps.

They really want to biopsy her liver but can't because of the blood thinners they put her on for the heart stint. They'll have to wait at least 6 months.  If they had told her she had to be on them, she would have been asking for alternative treatments (balloon, medications, etc.) for the blockage. My sister was there and they said nothing about it when telling her about the procedure.

Breakfast

make lunches for field trip

dd school: chemistry, history, Spanish, writing

clean house more when back from field trip

supper

take dd to her first play performance

We have a busy afternoon and evening!

--math of some sort

--English

--physics and/or elective science (geology, astronomy)

--lunch

--leave for Math Olympiad before 1 (I have to set up the rooms)

--Math Olympiad 1:30-3

--dd home for brief snack

--short FLL project meeting 4-5

--dd home to eat, change, do slight makeup

--dd to studio for costume then to library for mini Nutcracker performance (an evening story time thing)

--dinner after at 8pm, maybe even later

Into that I need to fit

--making copies for Math Olympiad activity

I think that's all that will fit. Sheesh

I really don't feel like tackling the day.  I just feel like relaxing and not rushing around.  The kids are apparently tired too since it's 8:07am and three of the four are still asleep. I'm going to savor it for a few more minutes before I wake them and force myself to tackle the day.

school: wrapping up any leftover assignments from this week

ds: finish packing for Scout trip

dye my hair (how on earth did I get so much gray?!)

dd16: Chem class (12:45-2:15)

bank

library

1 load of laundry

dd16 - meeting friend for dinner & dress shopping (4:45pm-7:45)

dd16- pet-sitting this weekend, needs to go walk dog (8-9pm)

ds and dh leave for weekend Scout trip (4:45pm)

I need to go to the gym and exercise at some point today, but I'm going to need a sudden increase in motivation if I'm actually going to make that happen!

Back from am practice and stopped for bagels and gas (again) on the way home.

Everyone except dd1 is still sleeping, so the day will start a little more slowly.

school for dd2, ds3

oversee teens' work

oversee chores

shower

laundry

pick up my closet

get a few loads ready for good will

word count

figure out dinner

clean up downstairs/get ready for weekend

PM practice-swimming/climbing

drop off donations and bank

Hope everyone's day runs smoothly. Amy, still praying for your parents. 20/20 hindsight for medical procedures was the most frustrating thing when my dad was ill.

Jean, still thinking about habits.  I have so many bad ones, I don't even know where to start!

Project #1:

Project #2

Take out *all* of DD's clothes and sort them into keep/toss/give away; winter/summer/transitional, put the winter clothes away neatly and store the others.  DD will help with this gargantuan task.  Then suggest, when DD thinks her wardrobe is too skimpy, that she either get a job, or realign her notion of how many clothes one girl needs, or get her own place so she can turn the extra bedrooms into closets.

Project  #3

Make dog cookies for treat bags for 9 dogs - they graduate from my beginning obedience class next week.

Can I choose not to tackle Friday??  My niece and nephew will be staying with us this weekend.  5 kids in the house under 5!!! This shall be exciting.  Because of that I only have one thing on my list today.  Clean house in preparation for them coming.  That may be too general but I know exactly what needs to get done and in what order so I'm off to wash the diaper load and start cleaning in my room!

It was a bad night and now the pain is setting in.  Oh well, Friday waits for no one.

So far I have done:

Human care including breakfast

Pet care (supervised the kids doing it)

Figured out today's school schedule - nothing like doing things at the last moment. . .

Breakfast supplements and enzymes etc.

Next up:  Clean the kitchen

Start laundry

Jean, I'm sorry you're not feeling well. Hope you improve as the day goes on, and are able to get some good rest tonight.

I was able to get some good rest last night. I thought I was getting sick yesterday, but it turns out to just be fatigue.

Dh is taking the day off today and the kids are lovin' it. They all want to do their oral reading with him and he took over J's math, which is good. It's always nice to have a little help.

We have co-op this afternoon. And that's it for the day.

Thanks Amy and Krissi.  I feel ok at the moment.

quick grocery run for more ingredients for homemade bagel bites which the kids absolutely love.  Ds wanted to add vegetables to his and who am I to say no to that?!

All laundry was sorted by ds and the first load is washing.  Good boy!

Ran to the store a second time to get some things that dh needed for tonight.

No cooking tonight!  Dd and I had leftovers and the "boys" went to a potluck.

Ds is done with school

Had a tag/slipper fight with the kids.

Dropped dd off at volunteering.

1st load is out of the dryer.

2nd load is in the washing machine.

Next - go through mail.

Sweep and then mop bathroom floors - done

Living room tidied - done

I am very proud of myself.  I have officially moved out of just emergency mode and am now actively cleaning my house instead of letting it get bad enough for dh to have to do it in addition to his two jobs.  There is still tons to do around here - basic cleaning as well as decluttering and organizing but I'm making baby steps.  Now if I don't slide backwards into emergency mode again because of my health cratering I'll be good.
