I live in the UK, where eggs are not washed before sale.  They are sold from an unrefrigerated shelf at the supermarket and I leave them on the counter.  They keep for weeks and we don't get ill.

 

Sorry for the boring answer.  

 

When our neighbour gives us eggs from her own hens, Husband puts a raw one in a smoothie.  He's not dead yet.  Maybe it's because our neighbour is a very cool classics professor.  Special WTM-certified eggs.

I voted no, but I need to qualify that.  We have free organic eggs that come straight from the barn.  Since I get them a flat at a time, and we have a small fridge, I usually can't fit them in.  A flat rarely lasts more than 4-5 days so they're still waaay fresher than store bought.

 

I refrigerate store bought eggs on the rare occasion we have them.
