Do you refrigerate eggs?

I live in the UK, where eggs are not washed before sale.  They are sold from an unrefrigerated shelf at the supermarket and I leave them on the counter.  They keep for weeks and we don't get ill.

 

Sorry for the boring answer.  

 

When our neighbour gives us eggs from her own hens, Husband puts a raw one in a smoothie.  He's not dead yet.  Maybe it's because our neighbour is a very cool classics professor.  Special WTM-certified eggs.

No. never have. We date them with a grey-lead pencil on the day they are laid and place them in the egg carton in the cupboard. Typically they get used within a month. for baking I prefer at a minimum a week old 2 weeks is better.

I put even the fresh eggs in the fridge. Less chance they will get broken that way.

I voted no, but I need to qualify that.  We have free organic eggs that come straight from the barn.  Since I get them a flat at a time, and we have a small fridge, I usually can't fit them in.  A flat rarely lasts more than 4-5 days so they're still waaay fresher than store bought.

 

I refrigerate store bought eggs on the rare occasion we have them.
