Just Kate
My mom and aunt have a wonderful roll recipe, but the past few years their rolls didn't turn out for Thanksgiving so last year we had store bought rolls. I would love to have homemade rolls for Thanksgiving this year, but since their recipe is quite time intensive, I am looking for an easier recipe to try. We will have between 25 - 30 people for dinner and if the rolls are good, I will need to have at least two for each person. Anyone have a recipe that is yummy but not too difficult? One that works ever tine is helpful as well. Thanks!
Lady Marmalade
I love these dinner rolls. http://www.kingarthurflour.com/recipes/big-batch-quick-dinner-rolls-recipe I've never tried the freezing steps, but I'm sure it would work well to make them ahead that way. Orthodox6
I don't have a particular recipe to recommend; however, I have the impression that what generally is termed "monkey bread" (pull-apart bread/rolls, baked all stuck-together) is good for large gatherings. LostSurprise
Have you made bread before? Make your favorite white (or wheat) recipe, rise, split into rolls, rise, bake, and freeze. When you're ready to go heat them up on a cookie sheet in the oven for 5-10m. If you're in too much of a hurry there is bread dough in the freezer section of the grocery store. Usually it's heat and bake. It comes in rolls portions too.

I like to do the second rise in the fridge whenever possible, and I have frozen the dough and had it turn out well when thawed.

Easy and delicious. If I make them early in the week of Thanksgiving I have to make a double batch or there won't be enough left for Thanksgiving dinner! One batch makes 32 rolls ( 2 circles of 16). Often I make them ahead of time and hide them in the freezer. They are still delicious.
zoobie
http://www.howdoesshe.com/delicious-dinner-rolls/ I've made that one four or five times. The rolls are delicious, and the dough is really easy to work. I don't put thankful things inside. I'm a holiday Grinch. ;)
KatieJ
Here's my recipe. Betty Crocker Golden Crescents. http://allrecipes.com/recipe/golden-crescent-rolls/ For the shortening, I use butter. I do not spread additional butter on the dough before I bake them.
Shamzanne
I LOVE these Pumpkin Dinner Rolls. They turn out every time and are soft and have great flavor. The pumpkin doesn't really flavor them, it makes them a pretty color and adds nutrition. http://www.tammysrecipes.com/pumpkin_dinner_rolls
