Ali in OR
The ones I've been involved in have involved going out to a rehearsal dinner afterword in a nice restaurant, so everyone wears their nice "out to dinner at a nice restaurant" clothes. In my day that was a dress, hose, and pumps, but I haven't been to a rehearsal dinner in about 20 years!
Loowit
All of the wedding rehearsals with dinners I have been to were very informal. I wore regular clothes - jeans, t-shirt/sweater, etc. But I live in a fairly casual area.
Whereneverever
sweat pants If I owned sweatpants this would be super helpful. Lol! How do I know if this is casual or fancy? I don't want to over or under dressed.

bettyandbob
It's been years since I was part of a rehearsal. However, at the time in my area, wedding rehearsals were slightly dressy. If I were going to one tonight I'd throw on a skirt either tights and a sweater (I'm cold and colder weather is coming in) you can also wear slacks and a nice blouse or sweater. I don't think you'll look real out of place if people are more casual than that, but if you wear ripped jeans or sweats and everyone else is dressy you might feel out of place. Chris in VA
Agreeing that it's a great idea to see if the restaurant is fancy or not. I'd wear a dress and heels, but that's about all I have that isn't super-casual.
Whereneverever
It's being catered in the church reception hall. Does that lean more toward casual?
Ellie
It's a *rehearsal.* Wear something comfortable.
zoobie
I'd go with whatever you would wear to that church during services.
redsquirrel
Every wedding rehearsal I have been to (all my sibs and sibs IL and cousins) seem to have had fancy rehearsal dinners. But I knew because either I knew the restaurant was fancy or I asked my mom, lol. There have been speeches and gifts to bridesmaids and toasts made. But, I should add they were all preludes to fancy large weddings. It was the time for the families of the bride and groom to actually meet before the weddings and it was a bit formal with lots of mingling and introducing etc.
Whereneverever
I ended up wearing skinny jeans and boots, lol. They served BBQ and everyone else was in jeans so I don't think I messed up too deeply.

kroe1
Ugh, I hate invitations that do not hint at a dress code. You can call the venue or the hostess.
