gardenmom5
a gift card for gas.
marbel
Yep, gift card. Any of the above. Or, depending on where he lives, a Wawa, QuikTrip, Sheetz or other good convenience store gift card. (For those unfamiliar with those names; these are regional chains and are a huge step above 7/11, selling gas (some stores), coffee, and various prepared foods among the convenience-priced groceries. We love Wawa; the kids and the mail carrier get a card every Christmas.
J-rap
iTunes gift card? Tickets for two at the local movie theater? I just got my daughter a gift certificate for a pizza restaurant on Groupon that usually is $20, but was on sale for $10.
dancingmama
I'd give a gift card. If you don't want to go that route, I'd get him some driving gloves that are smartphone friendly. I have a pair and I love them. Of course, I'd make sure the gift receipt was included just in case they weren't his thing. But if I *had* to give something other than a gift card, that's the route I'd go.
LucyStoner
Emergency kit for the car? Books if he is a reader. Nice water bottle.
umsami
15 lotto/scratch off tickets. Gift card to a restaurant, Starbucks, etc.
beaners
I was going to suggest a pair of tickets to a movie theater, but apparently just one of those would eat up your budget. (When did movies get so expensive?!)T-shirts for tv shows you know he likes? Beef jerky? Caffeinated carbonated beverages? I have a brother around that age, and that's what I'd buy him.
