Plateau Mama
My 11 is a whiz in the kitchen. He cooks on a daily basis, therefore I don't feel the need to provide direct supervision in the kitchen. (I'm always around, but not necessarily in the kitchen watching him. Well, apparently we never taught him that the edges of a tin can are sharp. Blood, and tears, all before 7 am. Not a good morning.
Jean in Newcastle
I've learned that lesson (again) even as an adult. :grouphug: to him.
trulycrabby
Ouch! Poor guy!!! :(
Mandylubug
poor thing. Happens to all of us. My 11 year old "forgot" the edge of the frying pan was hot today while he was making pancakes.
Belacqua
Ouch. Well, that can even happen to a veteran. Having recently sliced myself on the sharp edge of the parchment paper box (despite the big letters, not to mention 35 years of cooking, telling me EDGE IS SHARP), I can speak to the truth of this. Poor guy!
Truscifi
I just learned that lesson last month, complete with ER visit and now a big ugly scar. :grouphug: to him, poor kid.
Plateau Mama
I just learned that lesson last month, complete with ER visit and now a big ugly scar. :grouphug: to him, poor kid. I'm thankful he didn't have to go to the Dr. I didn't look to see how deep it was but it stop bleeding pretty quick. I accidentally cut myself on a can (finger slipped) when I was pg with him. Trip to the ER included.
Supertechmom
Yep another one with a trip to ER with multiple layers of stitches and repaired tendon due to a run in with a can lid. I think I was around 25ish??? Stupid tin cans!!! They should have their own horror movie.
skeeterbug
Yikes! Will be making sure my kids know this, not sure we've talked about it with all of them. This thread might be injury-prevention!
