Kathryn
The kids want to be Harry Potter characters for Halloween. They've already got costumes because they play it all the time. But, I just thought that instead of the pumpkins they usually carry, cauldrons would be cute. Anywhere I can buy a couple cheaply?
hillfarm
I have seen the cheap, plastic ones in various dollar stores, Walmart, etc. If you can't find anything there, try one of the seasonal Halloween stores that pop up temporarily each year. If they are the wrong color, you can always use some of the Krylon spray paint intended for plastic porch furniture to make them black. ThatHomeschoolDad
In a pinch - plastic pumpkin and black spray paint.
Kathryn
Thank you! We've got a dollar store right next to a Walmart so I can check them both easily. If we can't find them, we do have the plastic pumpkins and black spray paint already. I am woefully uncreative and never would have thought of that. *Lulu*
I am sorry, but when I saw the thread title all I could think was, "have you tried Diagon Alley?" Why, yes, we have been on a Harry Potter reading kick this year....... Why ever do you ask? :P
magnificent_baby
I think we got ours at Hobby Lobby last year. Very big. If you have a HL, check fast, once their holiday inventory is gone, I don't think they put anymore out.

DS has only read Harry Potter for the last six months...over and over and over. Sometimes it makes me sad that his brother will never have the shock of reading and discovering certain things for the first time since he hears it all. Jan in SC
I think I saw some at party city yesterday. I can't remember if they were too big to carry, though.
Spy Car
You could make one out of paper mache easily. For the expensive version South African "potjie pots" are the bomb. No good for carrying though. Bill
Wildcat
I spotted some yesterday for $1 at Old Time Pottery. They were the same size as the pumpkin treat buckets.
