stephanier.1765
I'd like to make one of these for a Christmas gift but I can't seem to wrap my mind around it. If anyone can throw out a few ideas to help get me started, I sure would appreciate it. TIA
celticmom
I would probably start by using some craft paper or brown paper bags to figure out the dimensions of the six wedges and the hexagons or circles on the top and bottom.
Catwoman
I have seen similar pet beds in stores like Petco and PetSmart. Maybe you could go to one of the stores and discreetly measure some of the beds so you'll have a better idea of how to draw up your pattern. Also, if you have a fabric store near you, you could ask if they have any patterns for pet beds. I'll bet one of the major pattern makers sells them, because pet stuff is very popular. You could probably even find some online.

TrixieB
That is awesome! I need a cat, so I'll have a reason to make a kitty Tardis!
BarbecueMom
That is awesome! I need a cat, so I'll have a reason to make a kitty Tardis! I have two, which one do you want? :-P I'm just curious as to how you make it bigger on the inside.
amyco
Well, most cats think they are lords of everything so why not time too? In which case they definitely need a kitty Tardis.
stephanier.1765
Thank you all for the great ideas and I did luck into a pattern that should work. Yay! I'd like to put a "light bulb" on top but I'm afraid it might turn out to look like a nipple. What do you think?

stephanier.1765
Instead of making a "lightbulb", why don't you get a spring or something bendy and wiggly and put a yellow puff ball at the end of it? At least make it fun for the kitty :) Oooh, I really like that idea!
