twoxcell
Does anyone else here do these? http://pinterest.com/pin/203013895675940289/ I believe I saw the idea for this here a couple years ago and I started doing these last year. If you are doing them what do you put in them? I'm going to go with my dh on Friday and get some stuff for these for my kids when we start school Monday. :)
Arcadia
My kids do theirs at their German Saturday class. They get to make their own cones. Their cones get filled with treats, fancy stationary and stickers. weederberries
Our German friends just celebrated their son's first day of Kindergarten. She ordered a handmade cone and filled it with pencils, small school supplies and CANDY! The cone was about as big as his torso and his smile was ear-to-ear. He was so thrilled. It makes me want to begin this tradition with my kids, who, sadly, miss out on the first day of school excitement.
Joyofsixreboot
I've done them for about 3 or 4 years. My kids really enjoy them. I also stick in little things like gum, socks, etc.
Kuovonne
I did these for the first time this year. I made the cones, then had the kids decorate them. I give my kids new crayons and colored pencils every year, so I put those in their cones. I also put in some pretty pencils, cute erasers, little notebooks, handheld pencil sharpeners, stickers, candy, scissors, and some dance supplies. The kids loved them. Chris in VA
We did them when we homeschooled and I miss it. I used a sheet of poster board to make the cones and put nice school supplies and some snacks in them. I make a big tuft of tissue paper for the top. Dd now sees all her supplies before school starts, but I still save a little gifty for her first day. In Germany, they are only for K year. I think they are too fun to restrict just to K! :-)
Spryte
We did this for K, and it was a lot of fun. After K, we don't do the cone, but we do a basket filled with goodies. Love it!
