Alice
I’m going to do a loose around-the-world preschool with Z4 this year, which mostly just means reading books. We’re starting with Canada since we just came back from a Niagara Falls/Toronto vacation. Any favorite children’s books about (or loosely about) Canada? Incognito
Z is for Zamboni is the alphabet hockey book. It's not specifically Canadian, but Canadians in general are so well-versed in hockey it really applies well. You can listen to Raffi songs. He has some about Canada. upincanada
Hold On, McGinty! by Nancy Hartry (protagonist is from the East Coast) The Patchwork House by Sally Fitz-Gibbon The Hockey Sweater by Roch Carrier (Quebec) The Sugaring-Off Party by Jonathan London (Quebec) A Prairie Alphabet by Yvette Moore There is a Canadian pre-school/K curriculum called "Come Sit by Me", which I did with my son. It was lovely and is how I know most of these books. Cheers!

It would be good to have some not about the Arctic/tundra which is where most searches have pointed me.
tjlcc
I'm Canadian and agree with the Come Sit By Me suggestions. Definitely check out the Franklin series by Paulette Bourgeois This site has recommendations for picture books on most of the provinces. Discover Canada There is also 100 Best Canadian Books. Not all titles would be suitable for a 4yo though. This blog has many picture book reviews and suggestion. And no, we do not live in the Arctic nor play hockey! Our neighbors do though ...
