Should I keep this vacuum?

The Kirby guys got me. But of course I have 72 hours to cancel the contract if I come to my senses. Are they worth it? I gave them my Miele (a year and a half old) and I'm wishing I hadn't, but they claim they gave me a "trade-in credit" for it. Something tells me that they could have given me the deal with or without my Miele.

Those demonstrations really are very convincing. The Kirby sucked a bunch of dirt out of my 3-week-old carpet that my Miele has apparently been missing. Consumer Reports likes the Kirby, but it also likes my Miele. They're apparently comparable in how much "talc and sand they lift from medium pile carpet". How can that be, with the demo I saw today? Please, you savvy people, educate me. Help me see through the smoke and mirrors of the magical Kirby salesman. OR tell me you love your Kirby and it's worth the money.

I cannot stand Kirby people. They outright LIED to my husband and I a few years back. I was so ticked off. They lied before they even tried to sell me and then when they tried to sell, I was like "Seriously? You need to just get out of my house."  So, I have no experience with the product itself (besides the demo), might be great, but I loathe their sales reps. If it were me, I'd try and get my old vacuum back and never look back. I know people that love Kirby, though, so if you decide to keep it, I wish you the best.

Send it back and get a Dyson :) Sorry I can't help myself I love Dyson and think that's the only vac worth owning.

I refuse to buy a Kirby just on the principle of how they do business. They are a good at "lowering" the price just to make you think that you are getting a good deal. Yes they lie to get you to buy.

They lied to get in my house. Didn't even tell me they were from Kirby. They told me they were a new carpet cleaning business in town that was offering a complimentary room cleaning in exchange that we would spread word of their new business to our friends. Imagine my surprise when a guy showed up at my door who was a Kirby salesman.

That's exactly what they said to me! Except they didn't say they were a new carpet cleaning business, they said they had been around for over 100 years.
