Soror
Do you do this once a week or a bit each day or???? We just started this week and I'm really not sure how we will do it. I bought the verbal problems book but right now we are going through the intro and first 7 lessons. I'm focusing on doing BA and HoE this week so I plan to finish the first lessons this week, as it seems to be mostly review from work we've done in BA and Dragonbox. I thought perhaps it would be a good goal to finish the Level 1 Verbal Problems for this year but I haven't studied it in depth so I'm not sure if that is reasonable or not. Farrar
I don't. We just do a little when it comes up. I'm considering cribbing an idea I saw someone suggest somewhere else though where you do a math routine and have a different "extra" every day for math - a game day, a living math book day, etc. so maybe if I do that, I'll make an "algebra day" for awhile. Soror
Thanks for your thoughts. I'm still thinking about how I want to do it. I think on weeks we have a 5 day week we will for sure do HoE and Beast, as I only have 4 days officially scheduled. I like the idea of perhaps have a different extra for each day as well. I can see alternating between BA, HoE, RS games and computer math games- like Timez Attack or Dragon Box or such. Partly it will depend on how long RSE takes us as we haven't started yet. The last lessons of RSD were only taking an average of maybe 30 minutes, and often less.
crazyforlatin
We vary our math books among HoE, Zaccaro, Beast, Patty Paper, MEP, LoF, etc. although we do have main books that we use about 4x per week. So HoE is probably used about 4 times per month. I try to pair something like MM or AoPS with something else each day, but it's not always this way. We school year-round so we have been very relaxed about what we do each day this year. DD has been on a Lego craze, and I want to give her freedom to build each day.
