HollyDay
Yesterday I posted about wanting to get off my beloved mocha lattes. I do enjoy them so. But, I'm finding I'm getting jumpy and having trouble sleeping. If I don't drink some coffee, I get a headache. What about green tea? I enjoy plain iced green tea (no sweetener). Will that help transition off coffee? Or just confuse the issue??
Mabeline
I would think it would help as green tea has much less caffeine than coffee. I would check and see how much caffeine your green tea has and have one or two glasses a day.
Heather in OK
My husband recently switched from coffee to tea. :) He seemed to do well drinking green tea. One of his favorites was STASH Chai Green Tea. For help sleeping you might consider taking a liquid calcium/magnesium supplement before bed. Start with 1/2 the bottle dosage and work your way up to the bottle dosage. Magnesium is a muscle relaxer so if your body isn't used to that much mag., you'll have loose stools in the morning. ;) But as your body gets used to the mag, that will stop. Joker
I was able to quit soda and coffee by just having one cup of green tea every morning. I didn't have any headaches at all even though I went from having 1-2 cups of coffee in the morning and usually one soda in the afternoon. Mom-ninja.
Green tea and black tea often have just as much caffeine as coffee. Herbal tea does not have caffeine. Good luck weaning off caffeine. I was never addicted to it so when I had to avoid caffeine it was not hard for me. When I crave coffee I just have decaf. I know some people have concerns about decaf. I don't. I don't drink it everyday anyway. You can also find decaf chai tea. Chai makes a nice replacement of coffee lattes. You can still put chocolate in it.
