Its just after 11 pm and we decided tonight not to lock our 5 month old kitten in as we've been doing in the evenings since we've got her.   And now she hasn't come home yet.

We lost our older cat about a month ago.  He just didn't come home.  We live rurally and there are many dangers out.  Dd and I are really worried for her and I'm feeling SO guilty for not locking her in earlier.

Please send kitten go home thoughts our way.

You must be so worried!!! :crying:

Kitten, go home right now!!!

Years ago, we decided that all of our cats would be 100% indoor cats. It turned out that they all loved being inside, and it was a lot less stressful for me than worrying about them when they didn't come home when I expected them to be here!

I hope your kitten comes home very, very soon!!!

You got it!

Go home, kitty! Right now!

Praying.

My cat was lost for a month before he showed back up. We had to use a live trap to catch him, but he's happy and sleeps all day on my chair now!

I hope your kitten comes home very, very soon!!!

Thank you. We've been out looking with torches, but no sight of little Tango yet.

:grouphug: Awwww, I've worked myself into tears about this sort of thing, then the little varmint wanders in the next day tired from his/her big adventure.  One time dh got up in the middle of the night, found the cat around 3 or 4 am, and deposited it on the bed so I could get some decent sleep.

Lots of Kitty Come Home thoughts coming your way from our house!

Oh goodness, been there done this! A few weeks ago our cat got out and wouldn't come back in at night. I tried and tried so I went to bed. Wake up at 3 am to cat squealing out the window. Try AGAIN and I'm convinced he's injured from a fight. STILL won't come in. Comes in at 6 am like nothing happened. BAD KITTY!

Come home baby kitty!

Come home kitty!  Ours went missing earlier this month for 5 days!!  It was horrible!  A neighbor saw our posters and called us; she had been under their cement steps for 3 days.  Now we feel like kitty jailors for not letting her out at all, but it's better for all of us with her inside.

Hoping yours comes home soon too!

Oh our kitty needs the occasional trip outside too or he'd be absolutely loopy and insane. We try to only let him out before 5 pm, but sometimes he sneaks! We have a 2nd cat that might escape to the back steps but would want back in the door in about 30 seconds.

Female cats are smarter- I've had probably 20 cats in my lifetime, and the female cats all outlived the males. Our male cats have been inside cats due to lethargy and well, dumbness, lol. So that is in kittens favor, she is a clever girl! And 5 months is not really kitten, she can fend for herself at that age. My bet is she will be crying at the door tomorrow morning, at least I hope so!

Are you insinuating my male cats are stupid!? The horror! :D

Well...at risk of sounding like a feline whatevertheoppositeofmisogynistis....yes. Male cats are kind of dumb. But sweet, friendly, not usually neurotic, and well behaved.

Poor male kitties, victims of evolution- they don't have to live long enough to do more than spread their love around. Survival of the species is in the hands of those wily, crafty female cats...which if gone missing overnight is a bonus!

She's here!!!

I was just going to come and post that she'd not come back and that I was fearing the worst.

I got up three times during the night to check on her favourite sleeping spots and was just dreading what to tell my girls - well, then I hear a scratching sound.

She was in my closet!  A new spot for her.  We did check all the cupboards, but she must have crawled in under some clothing and not stirred when we went searching - or she did come in and climbed in there during the night.

I am SO SO SO relieved.  There will be no sympathy for her tonight, though.  She's being locked in when the sun sets.

Thank you everyone for your good thoughts and prayers.  I appreciate this board!
