macmacmoo
So more hiccups with this move to Hawaii. We are planning on shipping our car and we went to transportation to talk to them about it. They shrugged and handed us a flyer for Auto Driveway. Word on the street is Auto Driveaway isn't covered by the military so if we use them, we wont get reimbursed. So if you moved OCONUS and shipped a car, who was the shipper and did you get reimbursed?
Mrs Mungo
The military should pay to ship one car, and you drop it off at a JPPSO (not a civilian shipping company). There are quite a few of them, scattered across the country. They are located in Dallas, Ft Carson, Ft Lewis, near LA, in Charleston, etc. Has your husband attended a Levy Brief? He should have received information about shipping the car then. We've PCSed to Hawaii twice. We've shipped two cars both times, so we paid out of pocket for the second car. We used Matson once and Pasha once.
Mom in High Heels
Are you talking about 1 car or 2? The military pays to ship one, as long as it's authorized on the orders. We have never been reimbursed for our 2nd vehicle (I wish!).
