Mama Lynx
In all the times I"ve moved, I've never felt like I knew how to do this. When you move, and look for a new doctor ... once you've identified a possibility, do you make an appointment to just go in and introduce yourself and talk to the doctor? Do doctors do that? Do they like it? Or do you just see if they're accepting new patients, and go in for the first time when someone is sick?
Parrothead
I just call and see if they are accepting new patients. I'd rather see how a doc reacts/interacts/proves himself on the job. I have walked out of doctor offices after a first visit and never went back.
Mom2legomaniacs
Call and see if they are accepting new patients. If they are, ask for a new patient visit for as soon as possible in order to get yourself established before actually needing them for an illness. But does this count as a "well visit" on my insurance?
Mom2legomaniacs
But does this count as a "well visit" on my insurance? Likely it would. You could ask that as well when you call.

And would you see the doctor or a PA or Rn, if that matters to you.
