Guest Lavienrose16
Hello everyone, I have home-schooled my 15 y/o daughter her entire life and this last school year we had her and her younger sister tested for the first time. I believe her scores are pretty good she is going into school this year should she do advanced placement classes or any other advanced programs? Are her scores better than average in general? Math was definately her weakest subject but we knew that before she took the tests. Also are these good scores for homeschoolers? Here are some of her scores for level 16 ITBS Her reading total was SS-346 GE-13+ NS-9 NPR-99 Spelling SS- 294 GE-13+ NS- 6 NPR-74 Revising Written Material SS-342 GE-13+ NS-8 NPR-95 Math Total SS-274 GE-11.6 NS-5 NPR-55 Core total SS-321 GE-13+ NS-8 NPR-93 Social Studies SS- 342 GE- 13+ NS-9 NPR-96 Science SS- 333 GE- 13+ NS-8 NPR-91 Sources of information SS- 306 GE- 13+ NS-7 NPR-78 Composite Total SS- 324 GE-13+ NS-8 NPR-
AngieW in Texas
Her scores look good. Just don't get fooled by the 13+ for grade equivalent. It means a lot more on the level 16 test than it does on lower level tests, but it doesn't mean that she is necessarily operating at a post high school level. All of her GE scores are above the 10th grade level of the test, so she is definitely performing at least at a beginning 11th grade level. Math is lower than the other scores, but it is still above the 10.0-10.9 grade level range of the test. You don't say how old/what grade the dd is, so I can't say how far advanced she might be, but according to the ITBS test, she is at least working at a beginning 11th grade level. Is this your 15yo or her younger sister? I wasn't sure from the way you worded your post. I don't use the ITBS beyond 9th grade. At that point, I find PSAT/SAT/ACT more useful. Guest Lavienrose16
It is the 15 year old. Actually she is in an accredited program and did not need testing but her younger sister (13y/o) did. My older daughter asked to take the test as well, it was her idea. She wanted to test herself and see how good a score she could get.
