Hikin' Mama
I'm going to Seattle in a couple months, and will be staying downtown, most likely. I will also be going to Edmonds for an appointment. If I fly to Seattle, can I reasonably expect to be able to use public transportation to get from the airport to downtown, and then from downtown to Edmonds? I'm trying to avoid renting a car and having to drive in Seattle. The last time I was there my son did all the driving and once we got to our destination, we walked or took the bus to where we wanted to go. However, he won't be with me this time, it will be my non-driving daughter and myself. Is this do-able? Thanks!
Jean in Newcastle
There are shuttle buses from the airport to the major hotels downtown. There is also the Downtown Airporter by Shuttle Express. You can also take light rail from the airport to downtown. http://www.soundtransit.org/Schedules/Central-Link-light-rail You could use Community Transit (bus) from downtown to Edmonds. http://www.commtrans.org/seattle/

gardenmom5
the sound transit train goes from the airport to downtown. the station is at the northern most end of the main terminal. You may have to walk outside to the train stop, but it should be clearly marked. and do check if your hotel has a courtesy shuttle. here's the link for metro transit.
