Maus
I'm looking for more like this: http://www.mensaforkids.org/school_template.cfm?showPage=school_poetically.cfm I like how it explains the poem and it's structure, defines difficult words, and provides activities to reinforce the memorizing. Anyone know of other sites that are non-subscription that have these sorts of lessons to go with each poem? Thanks
Bang!Zoom!
Maus, check for "poetry dictionary" on the web. I have no idea at which level you are working with. Could you say a little bit more about that? How much time are you devoting to the study? Short semester or longer term, fleshed out type work? Are you already working with an course outline of knowledge or have books selected to work with?

Maus
Maus, check for "poetry dictionary" on the web. I have no idea at which level you are working with. Thanks for that suggestion. It's producing results that are much closer to what I'm looking for than what I thought to try. (Found http://www.poetry4kids.com/blog/lessons/poetry-dictionary-for-kids/ and it looks very useful.) Grammar stage, though my oldest is crossing into Logic (My three are rising Pre-K, 4th, and 5th/6th). DH and I will probably participate in memorizing, too. Could you say a little bit more about that? How much time are you devoting to the study? Short semester or longer term, fleshed out type work? I like the idea on the Mensa page of a poem a month, but want enough so that it's a poem a month until each child graduates. Are you already working with an course outline of knowledge or have books selected to work with? Not yet, though I do have several of the "_______ for Young People" books.
