Jean in Newcastle
Will you join me for a cook-out of organic nitrate-free all beef or turkey dogs on the grill? What do you like to dress your hot dogs with? I don't exactly like this but in this area the Seattle dog has cream cheese on it. . . . Today we went to Costco and got a new bamboo floor for ds's room. What home improvements have you made lately or have planned? For a totally random question - what brand of toothpaste do you like? FaithManor
Hmmm....not fond of hot dogs. Home improvements - a new roof for the shed, paint the trim around all of the cathedral windows, and new front and back door. Most of that will happen this fall since dh and I are REALLY busy this summer. Colgate currently because it was on sale. Faith
PeacefulChaos
All beef hot dog for me, please! I like mine either plain (just the bun - yeah, I'm daring like that) or with chili/cheese. I do actually get the beef hot links every once in awhile, and we eat those with cream cheese. They're delish! We rent, so we haven't done anything to our house lol... though last week we did make a spot in the yard for a 'fire pit' - which, right now, is a burned patch in the yard. I would love to just go through the house and start pitching stuff, because we have way too much of it, but thinking in my head that it's a good idea and actually getting up and doing it are two totally different things! And we like Crest pro-health. Not the whitening one, the regular. They usually have 2 packs of them at WalMart, but go figure -- now it's the whitening one they have two packs of. :glare: Oh, well. bobbeym
Just picked up some OM angus beef nitrate-free hot dogs to grill at a party Saturday. Grilled with lots of ketchup and mustard is the only way I'll eat hot dogs. DH and I got a new bed last weekend. It's a queen sized platform with 12 drawers and a shelf headboard. I love it!! We live in a rental, so that's about as exciting as we can get for home improvements. joannqn
I'll have a chili cheese dog please. If there's no chili, I'll take mustard only on my dog. We live in a rental so we can't really make a lot of home improvements. We're hoping the property management and/or home owner will find and fix the leak that is causing the carpets in all three bedrooms and the living room to be wet. The neighbor and we have been looking everywhere for the source of the leak but can't figure it out. It's wet when and after it rains, but there is no sign of leak that we can find in the attic or crawl space. We've pulled back carpets in two rooms only to find that the dry wall seems to be dry and the floors under the carpets are dry. We're stumped. All that moisture makes the whole house super humid, and even the beds feel moist because of the extra humidity. The property management closed the ticket after sending out two people who didn't resolve the leak, so we'll have to keep on them about it when it starts raining again. Other than that, I did get permission to paint (our cost) and stain the back deck (owner's cost) from the homeowner. I use Sensodyne toothpaste because it is the most readily available toothpaste that doesn't have sodium lauryl sulfate in it. I'm sensitive to SLS; in toothpaste, it causes my gums and cheeks to become rough and swollen.
Lisa in SC
I can't do hotdogs...I've an aversion to them. It's a taste and texture thing. :( ETA: I meant to add, thought, that since this is a virtual cookout, I will give the hotdogs another go and top with something spicy...ummm,...maybe a horseradish/mayo mix and cheese. :) Before we came down with this virus yuck, we finished transforming dd20's room into a mini-apartment for our soon to arrive granddaughter and her. It has a sleeping area for dd, one for baby, and a little area with a rocker for nursing. She has a mini-fridge for water, etc. the walls are mostly pale blue, with a stripe of white separating the blue from a band of gray at the top. Her bedding is white and that very pale shabby chic pink. baby has a gorgeous white bassinet, and dd painted large wooden letters to make baby's monogram which hangs on the wall above the bassinet. The other accessories are white and pale gray. It's very cute, if I do say so myself. ;) I know it's frowned upon, and I've really tried to like the organic and all natural brands of toothpaste, but I just don't. My favorite brand, in spite of yucky ingredients, is Crest 3D White. It makes my teeth pretty, and I suppose at times I can be shallow like that. Mama Geek
Will you join me for a cook-out of organic nitrate-free all beef or turkey dogs on the grill? What do you like to dress your hot dogs with? I don't exactly like this but in this area the Seattle dog has cream cheese on it. . . . I like hot dog chili, or sauerkraut, or relish, or ketchup. Today we went to Costco and got a new bamboo floor for ds's room. What home improvements have you made lately or have planned? We bought a foreclosed home 3 years ago and have most of the major projects, we do still want to paint the outside and we are discussing putting solar panels in for the pool. On my dogs....course ground mustard, sweet relish and ketchup please (but I am allergic so I can't have that IRL LOL) I am painting my back room. Today I spent the day bleaching the kitchen counters, cleaning nooks and crannies, and cleaning the oven. I usually use Tom's Wicked Fresh...but I like Crest with baking soda better. Mnemosyne
I personally love hot dogs with cream cheese... a true Seattlite, right? I haven't made any home improvements, sadly, but I've got lots of plans for when we move in two months! I don't really have a particularly favorite brand of toothpaste. I use whatever is on sale now, but I'm starting to experiment with the natural ones to see what I like.
Rosie_0801
Will you join me for a cook-out of organic nitrate-free all beef or turkey dogs on the grill? What do you like to dress your hot dogs with? An interest in hot dogs would indicate imbalance in my life. Generally speaking I'd prefer a baked potato with garlic butter, coleslaw, cheese and sour cream. Mmm. What home improvements have you made lately or have planned? My best favourite aunt in the whole world paid a couple of fellas to put a fence around our house so Pint Size can't nick off into the wilderness. That has certainly freed me up a bit, now I don't have to check him every two minutes. I have plans for beautifying a bit. I'd like to grow some jasmine vines up the fence, put in some other plants that smell nice or are interesting to touch and try growing Sturt Desert Pea at the edge of the sandpit. For a totally random question - what brand of toothpaste do you like?I do not believe the perfect brand of toothpaste exists. :(
twoxcell
I'll take a hot dog if it is gluten free minus the bun. ;) We are still working on our kitchen but have been too busy the last couple of weeks to do much with it. As far as toothpaste I buy Crest Complete cinnamon. I don't like mint toothpaste. :P
Robin M
I love cheese dogs with cole slaw slopped on top. When I worked at a deli eons again, was introduced and has stuck with me ever since. Just finished painting my son's room and plan on doing the hallways. If I get really ambitious will do the living room. We still need to change out his carpeting and install bookshelves. My favorite toothpaste is close up

For a totally random question - what brand of toothpaste do you like? #1. I'll pass on the hotdog. But if you serve beans, I'll happily bring a salad. #2. I trimmed trees and "hedges" today. Were used to have hedges, but they have grown up into trees and great, tall wild bushes. I spent hours yesterday and today with hedge clippers a rake and a saw. I will bring out the ladder tomorrow, if I can move my arms. I cleared most of the back of the property. I'm preparing to build a brick oven, brick rocket stove, chicken coop, bunny hutch and a run that will maze all over the property. Oh! and I cleaned out the frog pond so we can get some new fishies. #3. I make my own tooth powder. It works so well, and it isn't weird at all :D
GailV
Mmmm, I haven't had a chili dog for ages. That needs to change this week. We've been messing with the stairway, stripping the woodwork, re-staining and varnishing. We need to order new carpet for it next. I use Aquafresh because I don't have weird mouth-sore breakouts from it, unlike some other brands.
readinmom
Dodger dog with mustard, relish, and onions for me, please. Today dh and I started covering the windows with the mylar sheets from Walmart. It's amazing how cooler the living room became with just one window covered! We'll work our way around as we test which windows are allowing the heat/sun in. When money allows, we are installing a whole house fan. Can't wait for that day! I just switched to Tom's because the smell of other toothpaste makes me violently ill. Is it a pre-menopause thing? Just Kate
So I don't really care for hot dogs, but around here (WV), hot dogs are eaten with slaw (coleslaw) or hot dog sauce (chili with no beans). People will also add ketchup, mustard, sweet relish, etc. I have never heard of cream cheese on a hot dog. We also rent, so no home improvements for us. But I will say that today, I decided that I wanted blinds in the living room instead of the sheers that are currently over the windows. I went to Home Depot, told the guy the measurements, had the blinds cut, came home and realized that they are not long enough!!! Of course, since they were cut, I can't return them. :glare: I didn't buy expensive blinds...but still, what a waste! I seem to be doing silly things like this lately...just making stupid mistakes. And the sad thing was at the store, I was just certain that I was purchasing the right ones. Ugh!!! Toothpaste...I just buy whatever is on sale. Usually Crest or Colgate with something or other. Sparkle
Hot dogs - I'll take mine with mustard, please. We finished a major home improvement project not too long ago (an addition on to our house) so right now the focus is on decluttering and keeping things CLEAN (ha ha). I am also slowly decorating the school room as I come across things I like and can afford...trying to do a Colonial America theme. Toothpaste - I usually buy Close Up for me and dh, but we always seems to have several brands floating around as everyone likes a different kind. I also like Weleda Pink toothpaste (natural) but I haven't bought it lately.
