Salwa
How long is normal to complete the Written Practice of 30 questions for Course 1? Today my son took 1 hour which I felt was too long.
Mom0012
I'm not sure what course 1 is, but my dd is doing Saxon 8/7 for a couple of weeks and it's been taking her about an hour. At first I thought that was too long and that she would probably speed up (and maybe she will), but then I considered it some more and figured that 2 minutes per problem is probably pretty reasonable. Salwa
Thanks Pastel. Saxon Course 1 is meant for Grade 6. Husband thinks it should be done in 30-40 mts since some questions are simple and be answered in a glance. But then he is a CPA and I wonder if like you say an average of 2 minutes per question is not all that bad. Son has been at it for 10 days now and I hope he will get quicker. I haven't carefully analyzed the problems, but while some of them are quick and easy, others take more thought. My dd has only been doing Saxon for about 10 days and I, too, hope it goes more quickly in the future. I have heard Saxon takes longer though, and I imagine that's one of the objections people have to it. This is also our first time having to copy all the problems so I'm sure that's adding to the time factor. We're used to a workbook. Hopefully someone with more experience will chime in.
