Latina Christiana I or First Form Latin?

Quick question: I am not quite sure with my children's ages/abilities if it is best to do Latina Christiana I or First Form Latin next. We are finishing up Prima Latina. The website says you should just do First Form Latin next but my twins are developmentally behind (see signature as to where they are). Does anyone have any suggestions?

It depends on how far you want to go in Latin.  If you think you won't do much past LC 1 then it's a fine program.  But, in our experience, LC 2 gets very hard around the middle for some reason, and we switched halfway through to First Form. We were very pleased with First Form (and Second, and Third).  I think you can definitely do First Form.  You might have to go more slowly, but that's okay.  It's not any harder than LC 1.

Good luck with your Latin studies!

First Form goes VERY QUICKLY & there is a lot of writing if you do it as-is. (You could slow down the writing & the pace to whatever is comfortable.)

LC 1 is a nice intro of FF (and they don't recommend you do LC2 after LC1 - just move onto FF). If you are okay with going at your kids' pace & comfort, go ahead with FF. It will be quite a jump from PL to FF! (I like the format of FF. Just be aware it is quite a step up.)

I decided to do LC1 for my rising 4th grader before we do First Form. I really like the Form series, it's so well laid out. But ... I didn't want to throw him into that much writing and that fast of a pace. He's completed about half of Prima, and we are jumping to LC1 this week. You can go from LC1 to First Form btw, you don't need LC II.

Thank you so much for all of your replies! I am still undecided lol. I am going to try to look at them somewhere. I didn't realize there was a lot of writing, that is something two of my children struggle with.
