We are in Nasville for the next four days for a conference. Aside from the Parthenon (thank you Percy Jackson!) where should we go and where should we eat. I will say we are not into country music at all. ( I remember things fromthe 70's and early 80's, and Garth Brooks, but outside of that we don't really know/do country.)

Are you wanting to stay in the downtown area? The main library may be having puppet or marionette shows. The Frist art museum is free for kids 18 and under - I think the adult admission is $10. They have a fun kids art/craft area upstairs. Spend some time at Riverfront Park, I think the Carousel might still be there and the historic Fort Nashborough.

The Pancake Pantry is a landmark Nashville eatery - in the Vandy area - usually busy but lots of roomy seating and quick service. Downtown, We have enjoyed Demos' Steaks - good American food at decent prices; The Old Spaghetti Factory on 2nd Ave. is a kid favorite; Ds recently ate at Past Perfect near the Schermerhorn Symphony Center and said it was great gigantic gourmet burgers - great for a 17yo boy :).
