Amira
The laundry is done, husband and son have been sent off, breakfast is over. Now we're waiting to babysit a one-week-old baby for a few hours. I can't wait. It's so rare to get a chance to spend time with a baby that new. I am also trying to figure out what car to buy. I am beginning to feel there is nothing out there that meets our needs. swellmomma
So glad I took the kids for that hike yesterday. I can barely walk today, but it is raining again so we wouldn't have had the chance if we waited To Do Today: *school *clean living(should only take 5-10 minutes) *clean kitchen *can the pickles (cool enough day to get this done) *clean cages (rabbit, guinea pig, hamsters) take garbage can to curb *30 minutes on basement cleanup/declutter (it's creepy down there but must be done) *30 minutes helping the kids with their respective rooms decluttering (not sure how much we will do in each room in 30 minutes, they are nasty, but again must be done and I am trying to teach them properly how to declutter each drawer etc and 30 minutes is all each can handle right now, dang adhd) *put away all canning supplies until next time :) *immunizations at 320pm *dance award ceremony 630pm That is more than enough for today I think Oh yes the meals cook/prepare: breakfast lunch dinner

swellmomma
Swellmomma must live near by. We are on our 3rd day of rain. I thought it was summer? Third day? that's all? lol we had almost week and a half of not just rain but down right cold weather (enough to have been wearing my winter coat just a few days before the first day of summer). THankfully despite all the rain and my sump pump working overtime we do not have the flooding that the southern portion of my province has been facing. There is a meme on fb going around now about my province, first day of spring under a big snowstorm, first day of summer under several feet of water. Yeah let's just see what the first day of fall brings. I know we were worried about moisture issues for the farmers but this is going a bit overboard. Mom-ninja.
We're supposed to post what we want to get accomplished? Um, I don't really plan ahead. I get up and do what needs to be done. Let's see so far today I've: gone for quick light run for 10 minutes washed two loads of laundry and folded/put away one so far made breakfast (melon with yogurt....turned the plain yogurt into vanilla) vacuumed a bit prepared lunch in the dutch oven (this was supposed to be dinner but I'll have to make a different dinner because dh can't eat my original plan) fed youngest snack helped with writing lesson doing math lesson will continue with lessons now
Jean in Newcastle
OK - No more sharp cheddar cheese for me. It caused a bad histamine reaction. Who knew that some foods contain or release histamine in your body? I didn't. But looking at the list of foods (which includes sharp cheddar cheese) it explains a lot not only for me but for my son who has been struggling with random hives and inflamed airways. So add to my list, a whole bunch of research on histamine and tyramine containing and releasing foods.

Jean in Newcastle
OK - today has gone to hell in a handbasket. Time to regroup. Ds has been wished a happy birthday. He will have his favorite dinner tonight. He was supposed to have today off from school (I had forgotten that at 4 am when I typed out the initial list.) But a whole week's worth of bad decisions came to light this morning and he will have to do quite a bit of Latin today and tomorrow to catch up. He's upset. I'm upset. But I can't back down partly for parenting reasons and partly because his tutor is moving in a month and we cannot cancel any sessions before she goes. I am so tired that this is the second time I've typed this out because the first time instead of hitting post, I hit the back arrow. Plus I absentmindedly ate someone else's breakfast. On a good note, one load of laundry has finished in the washer and is now in the dryer. And dd is reading her history. Next up for me: Clean the kitchen. Jean in Newcastle
RC talked to me while I cleaned the kitchen. I can now cross that off my list! (Just don't ask her how dopey I was while we talked. . .) Now I"m going to supervise Latin for an hour. Oh joy.

Done: B'fast Read some Thomas the Tank Engine books Bank Aldi Went to buy our train tickets to Paris (didn't get them because the line was WAY too long) Swept boy's bathroom Lunch Read some Mickey Mouse books (actually, a LOT of them) Surfed the interwebs Scared myself to death over symptoms I found on the interwebs (I could be dying or just have an allergy) Folded the last load of laundry I didn't fold last night 1 load of laundry Took out garbage (Indy is a Scout camp-I miss him taking out the garbage!) Nap (my allergy meds make me groggy) Watched a movie Dinner Loaded dishwasher Gave Han Solo a bath Put Han Solo to bed And now I'm surfing the interwebs again I feel like I accomplished very little. Probably because I didn't do half the stuff on my list. Stupid allergy

swellmomma
Well the to do has been a to don't list it seems. The kids are moody, one of the dogs pooped on the livingroom floor, and I am just beinig lazy. On the good side of things, dinner is in the crockpot (ham with a cranberry sugar glaze), we were chosen for another puppy, so we will have 2 after all. Only the 2nd one in this case is free unlike my purebred yorkie, this one is a basset hound/siberian husky cross. It will be ready to come home 2 weeks after the yorkie. I can't wait. I have missed our old puppies so very very much since we had to give them up due to my illness last fall. We leave here in 30 minutes for the immunization appts (for ds9 and dd13), and then back home for a nice ham dinner before leaving again for the awards ceremony. We are eating a nice dinner ahead of time because I could not afford to buy the dinner being served at the ceremony. So the kids will have nice full tummies before we go. Personally I don't really care about it or not but it will be a nice way to wrap up the year since the girls will not be returning to that dance school in the fall. Perhaps once the ceremony is over I will have more gumption to actually attempt to do more on my list. I did put on a Canadian history dvd today so I could at least claim to have done a little school :)
Jean in Newcastle
I'm glad that you got the address fixed, Susan. It sounds like you're having a mixed day, Swellmomma. I am sitting on ds while he gets some more Latin done. Sigh. The good news is that I tidied the living room and found 4 of his assignments that he had insisted that he had turned in and that I must have lost. I have collected my apology. Jean in Newcastle
Why is sitting on kids (teens especially) so emotionally exhausting? Ugh. Drives me nuts. Because it is like sitting on really really big and articulate two year olds? (It's been a long day.) But - ds has gotten 2 out of 3 Latin assignments done. One more to do later today. Plus - I buzzed his hair at his request. Now he is in a two-hour orientation for his new volunteer job. To them, he looks like a really nice responsible young man! (Which I see too amidst the rest of the stuff.) Dd is mowing the lawn for money.
plath
My list is not going to get finished today and I don't care. Falling in and then having to clean up dog pee from my dying dog zapped my motivation.
hjffkj
dinner done, kids fed, and now they are finishing up their movie they didn't get to finish earlier. Then off to bed with them so I can finish my list!
Jean in Newcastle
Ds finished his orientation. I got more Latin grading done. My computer died. I am so grateful that I have a computer savvy son who figured out that it was just my laptop monitor thingie and hooked it up to an external monitor. We dashed to the grocery store for two things I forgot for tonight's dinner. Dinner will be done in 5 minutes. I really really don't want to go to Zumba tonight. I am so tired and I'm not feeling so hot. But I probably will go anyway because people are counting on me and it is good for me.

We got through shots, and the awards ceremony. Dogs have had their nighttime walk, cats have been checked, I have been washing dishes but the kitchen is not done and I don't care. The livingroom is not done either and I still don't care. In fact I didn't do most of my list today and I just don't care lol. I did do some planning for the fall, read a bit of a magazine, made a summer to do list, and a summer to repair/repaint list, and otherwise took it easy today. Hoping to head to bed shortly and hopefully wake up feeling more energetic tomorrow and ready to actually tackle my list because tomorrow's will be twice the usual length to make up for today
Jean in Newcastle
Went to Zumba and stayed for 50 minutes.
