Hi everyone, I am new here. Not new to homeschooling, just this forum and classical education/TWTM. I checked the book out at the library and it is the first version but I see there are more recent versions available. Is there much of a difference between them? Thanks!

Welcome! The newer editions cite SWB's new products, tweaked some recommended products, tossed the time recommendations, and have expanded explanations on some stuff for writing. The high school section especially got some expansion. So if you're doing high school, definitely get the 3rd edition. I use both my 1st and 3rd and compare them. To me the 1st edition is a classic. :)

I like the 1st edition 7-8 and high-school science, even though many others hate it. It teaches how to use trade books, and much of the Great Books instructions can be adapted to modern day magazine articles and other current events type science. I don't believe in one-size fits all college prep science textbooks for all teenaged students. TWTM 1st edition is a good resource for lower income, atypical, and just plain "normal" students.

The 3rd is good for other reasons.
