Slartibartfast
Does anyone have a nice povitica recipe? It is a type of bread. My husband's family is eastern euorpean and this is a family tradition for them but the main person who made it has passed away. We could buy it at a bakery in Kansas City but it has been so long since dh has had it, he would be delighted if I could make it. his favorite is the kind with black walnuts. It is this stuff if you don't know what I am talking about http://www.povitica.com/

Orthodox6
I know it by the name potica; however, your link went straight to a familiar, loved sweet! (I don't think of it as a bread, although the recipes refer to it thus.) My favorites are poppy seed and cinnamon/walnut. P.S. I just looked online, and both spellings are right. Jean in Newcastle
I've never heard of or tasted that before but that looks so yummy that it is now on my bucket list!

It is very worth the time it takes to make it. Speaking of which, I need to make it again.

I think that is a regional thing.

8circles
It's just called kolac to us. (kolach - I can't make accents on this thing). Poppyseed (makove) is my favorite.
