JudoMom
I spent a few days last week redoing our school room, and just have to share! I can't figure out how to share pictures here, but here's the link to my blog. Do you have any plans for your school space before the new year starts? I love looking at school rooms/spaces :001_smile:.
Tita Gidge
LOVE the new paint color. It's calming yet invigorating at the same time :) How perfect for a schoolroom! I like those desks, too. I'm in the process of mentally re-doing our space. We currently have a long table but I was thinking of moving to desks now that they're getting older and (oddly) more easily distracted by each other. It's like they're regressing LOL. Are they an IKEA thing? I clicked through to your past schoolroom arrangments. I love that you've managed so many different configurations in a single room. Impressive! I get bored every year and feel a need to change things up, too. I just put it off until I give up on it though ;)
Lilaclady
That is great. The room really looks nice and well arranged. Good job
elegantlion
I'll take some pictures tomorrow. I'm finishing up some rearranging. I did paint today, but not the classroom and nothing "purty". I'm currently waiting for the paint to dry on some shelves so I can do another coat.
swellmomma
I love how it looks, and how it has morphed over the years. It makes me wistful for a dedicated schoolroom, but tiny house means kitchen table school. I love how it looks like a sophisticated schoolroom for older kids. Usually when you see pics online of schoolrooms they are for the younger age set so they don't have that grown up look/feel to them.
DarlaS
Nice! I love the colors--especially your desk! Is that TV up by the ceiling going to be used much? That's the one thing that would bug me (the height). (Oh, I see you're getting rid of it... nevermind! lol!) LOVE all the shelving. Love it!!! It's funny how they regress! I'd expect the older two would be able to sit on the same piece of furniture and read without a wrestling match, but it proved impossible. We've had it up there since the beginning of the year, and the height isn't too bad. It's not used for long viewing sessions, though. We hook a laptop up to it to watch a YouTube video or Kahn Academy or various teaching DVDs. My dh uses it quite a bit on Saturday mornings when he does Saturday school with the boys. I wouldn't want to watch a movie on it, that's for sure. The touchscreen computer my ILs gave us will be mounted lower--it's smaller (a 23 inch, I think). My plan is to have two whiteboard sheets side by side on the wall, with the computer down lower so it can still be used as a touchscreen. I'm not sure how low, though. I use the whiteboard quite a bit, and I didn't want to sacrifice a lot of space to the TV.
JudoMom
Funny, I just finished adding a bunch of ideas to Pinterest. I'm just about done with planning next year, so of course my mind wanders to changing the schoolroom. I'm thinking of painting my cheap plastic folding tables and plastic magazine racks to match. I'm taking down the loud school-like posters and the word wall stuff and putting up some educational, but soothing type stuff. I haven't decided what yet, still deciding on that. I want a taller bookcase and clear out some of the closet space. I have a long way to go, but I'll be happy to post pictures when it's done. Now see, you did it in the right order. I painted to avoid planning, and now I've got to scramble this week to get some stuff planned for our new year that starts July 1. I'd love to see pictures when you're done! Unicorn.
I love how clean and crisp the room looks! I really love the wall color. I'm jealous of the dedicated school room- we just always had the dining room table and the living room. I wish I had the room for a wonderfully organized space. Ah well, it worked. I'm more sad that I'm done- all of mine will be off to the local HS next fall. Although- dd 1 isn't so sure about it- she's only going for the swim team! :D (so she may be back)
Dahliarw
I love the room. I wish I had a dedicated space to transform like that. Right now we're using our formal living room, and it will look more school next year, but I have to work around a baby grand in the middle of the space... They are an IKEA thing. I've been trying to figure out what to use next year, but Ikea overwhelms me!
elegantlion
Here's some photos. I'm still setting it up for fall, but the arrangement won't change. I posted them on Picasa.

RemsMom
I love the new color! I looked at your old posts and I love the way the old color and setup looks "little kid" and how your new color and furniture look "big kid".

This one looks quite similar, and is the same price point.
