Guest Betsy
I would like a pretty basic, simple overview of American government. We are going to go through the HSLDA Constitutional Literacy course later this year, but before that I would like to find something that explains in basic terms the set up and functioning of our government.I'd like something fairly short, almost like a brochure/booklet, not a full high school textbook. I know I could use the Constitution itself, but am looking for something with simpler wording that will explain it all fairly quickly and simply. We'll be reading the direct text and looking at Supreme Court cases in the HSLDA course, but I wanted something we could use even as just dinner table conversation to get my kids up to speed before delving into the harder course. Thanks for any suggestions. Miss Marple
I saw a stack of these at the immigration office last week and though that they would have been very useful for a quick overview of government. It's 29 pages, downloadable pdf and it's FREE :) There are other links to information about government (our flag, the great seal, etc.)
