Laurel
Any suggestions of where to get underwear that fits 1 or 2 yo boys? D is not quite 2 yo, though his 12mo shorts are still loose on him (especially without a diaper), and all I can find are underwear sized 2T/3T. If we fold over the top one time they will at least stay up, but they are still really big. I remember having this same problem with his older brother, and got him some cute underwear from Talbot's, though they have since shut down their children's shop... bolt.
I wonder if it would matter if you got girls underwear at his age? Girls 2T is smaller / slimmer than boys, I think.
GSOchristie
I found that if I got cheap ones and washed/dried them several times, they shrunk enough to fit Jax at 19 mon (he is wearing 24 months at nearly 4). Think the smallest were Lego Star Wars. With Piper, who only weighed 23 pounds when she PT, we just used the Gerber trainers, which still gap around the legs. fairfarmhand
I had best luck with those heavy trainer pants. They seem to be designed for smaller bodies than the regular, thin undies.
fairfarmhand
Oh, yes. I do remember this. My little boy thought it was VERY funny when his "stuff" fell out of the leg hole of his underwear. Nothing like hearing "Look mom!" when you are sitting down for breakfast!
Ravin
Walmart's store brand briefs underwear for little boys run small. Online, check the EC Store.
soufflegirl
Did you try Target? I had the same problem, but the Thomas the Tank Engine underwear seemed to run a little smaller or the elastic was a little better. Granted, this is going back a few years so they might have changed the sizing since then.
Laurel
I wonder if it would matter if you got girls underwear at his age? Girls 2T is smaller / slimmer than boys, I think. Looking at size charts online, the waist size is the same, unfortunately. I will grab some of the training pants when I'm in town ( though I don't particularly like them) and maybe try some of the specific character ones mentioned above. Hanna andersson xs looks like it will fit, going on the online size charts, but $18 for 3 pairs of underwear is just so expensive. (And I know they're wonderful quality, but we'd like to have a lot of pairs...)
lavender's green
My son is in 2/3T underwear, and the Thomas ones from Target are the tightest we've found (but he's 2 and chunky, so we don't have to worry about them falling down anymore).
