staceyobu
I have been considering MFW Adventures for next year, but I'm still having some hesitations. I already know what I would like to do for science and I'm not sure if the program is worth it without the science. I would like to combine my 1st and 3rd grader. I'm worried that SOTW 3 is going to be too hard for my 1st grader. My 3rd grader has completed SOTW 1 and 2. I would like to move ahead to American history or geography or something else next year (I don't want to redo ancients or medieval again). Any suggestions? Starr
I would do SOTW 3 and adjust accordingly. My younger one was fine with moving along with his older sister. You could go through it in 2 years stopping in areas you want to cover more in depth.

edeemarie
This looks really cute and I will probably use it for next year. It should work well for your ages. FWIW, I plan to take a break for American history after SOTW 2. http://onemagnificentobsession.blogspot.com/2013/05/us-history-for-grammar-stage.html
pitterpatter
I would just give your 1st grader age appropriate work that corresponds with what your older is studying. Do you still have SOTW 1? Maybe pull it out and see how you can make SOTW 3 fit its mold.
originalkat
We are thinking of trying Heart of Dakota (Bigger) for our 1st and 3rd grader this year. It might be an option for you.
Tracee
Look at TruthQuest. I've done HOD, and I can tell you, I"m absolutely loving TruthQuest.
