Merrellmom
I am wondering if anyone knows of a one year history overview for a high school level student. Sonlight has a core w but it is intended for junior high students. My daughter is entering 11th grade and has completed all of TOG and several years of Sonlight. I was hoping to use the up-coming year to do a survey of world history before a more "focused" senior year. Thanks for any help you might be able to offer! Mountainmama
if you are looking for video - there are lots of options on internet - such as edu-portal, learnerstv == or http://www.openculture.com/2013/04/the_history_of_the_world_in_46_lectures.html ( there is a second part to this class available that covers wh from 1500 and you can get the textbook for pretty cheap or even use spielvogel with this)
Mountainmama
if more artsy - try: http://www.bbc.co.uk/podcasts/series/ahow/all if a thinker, how about western philosophy without any gaps
Mountainmama
or.. if you are looking for a history program similar to philosophy without any gaps - try: http://podcasthistoryofourworld.blogspot.com/ -- it is still in its infancy, but if the caster holds to his goal, it will be a very in-depth and entertaining history

I think a few months ago Sonlight was saying they'd have a one year world history overview for high school by September. You might check over there to see if that's still the plan. Merrellmom
Thank you Luann! I had no idea there was a new Core in the works. I checked out the website and have already sent them a message! My search might just be over! Thank you all again for taking the time to answer! Have a blessed weekend!

I edited the post above to change the projected date to September and add a link to a post from Sonlight about the core.
