emcap
I know there have been lots of threads about printers, but I am hoping someone can help me find my dream machine. I need it to print double sided, black and white and color, cheapish ink, copier, and it must be wireless (I need to print from my ipad). Oh and rather inexpensive too. I have no idea what I should or need to spend to get what I want, but I would love to keep it under $100, is that possible? Please help, I am so overwhelmed by the world of printers! Isn't that silly?
SABE
Take a look at this one. http://www.amazon.com/Canon-MX922-Wireless-Printer-Scanner/dp/tech-data/B00AVWKUJS/ref=de_a_smtd It's a little over your target price, but the ink is cheap if you buy generic (less than $2 per tank if you order from Amazon). I have an older version, an MX 860 with similar features, and it has served me well. I print nearly everything on Fast mode to reduce my ink consumption, and the quality is still good. emcap
Thanks so much for your help. I will look into both of those. I really appreciate having some direction.
purduemeche
We have an HP 8600 and it meets all of those requirements. It was easy to set up and use.
boscopup
I was going to recommend the HP 8600 too, but you said $100. I think it's more like $250, BUT... the ink is cheap (and separate cartridges for each color), it does duplex printing AND duplex scanning (50 sheets of paper at a time - both sides!), and it's wireless. The thing about printers is that if you want cheap ink/toner, you usually need to spend a bit more up front. The $100 machines often have expensive ink. The exceptions would be some of the monochrome laser printers, like the Brother 2270 that many here have (it's easily found for $80-100), but that doesn't have color. And you do have to basically replace the printer when the drum runs out (the drum cost as much as the printer!). I haven't hit the drum limit yet on mine. I've only replaced toner once in the 2 (or is it 3?) years I've had it.
Um_2_4
This one:http://www.amazon.com/Brother-DCP-J140w-Wireless-Compact-DCPJ140W/dp/B0081TXGJY/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1371589282&sr=8-1&keywords=Brother+j140w $83 and the replacement ink is CHEAP. I buy ink on amazon:http://www.amazon.com/Pack-Compatible-Brother-LC-61-Cartridges/dp/B004GEHTVY/ref=pd_sim_e_2 Each black cartridge lasts about 150-200 pages (depends on how much text/pics per page). rdolphingirl
http://www.amazon.co...ref=pd_sim_e_41 Just discovered this one... still super cheap ink and duplex... but look at it, it prints right on CDs!!!! OH MY GOSH I NEED IT!!!! I will second this one .... this is what I have !! I had an older brother that I used for several years, when it quit working I decided to upgrade instead of trying to fix it. I got this one about 8-10 mths ago I think it was and its worked great. Very easy to use, and even if you buy brand name ink (which I recomend for the color ones) its not very expensive :) I've not used it to print on CDs , but it does do everything you wanted :)
