Danestress
I have to drive around Atlanta to get to Rome Georgia. Google maps has me take the 85 South, bypass Atlanta on the 285 West, and pick up the 75 North. I will be doing this at fairly high traffic times. Do you think it would be better, less traffic, to take the 140 to the 92? Would I have a lot of traffic lights or heavy traffic that way? Unfortunately, I will be doing this between 4 - 6 in the afternoon! I haven't been to Atlanta in a long time but I do remember the hideous traffic! lmrich
140 to 92 would take forever! Summer traffic is lighter than normal and try to time your trip closer to 4, and you will be fine. Patience is always practiced on
Danestress
Thanks! The other option I saw was to take highway 2O through Cumming and then Canton. That would probably be terrible too, huh? But I dread the Atlanta highways, and don't have full control over our timing:(
zoobie
20 would be the worst option. I'd check traffic just before you get to 140 and make the decision then. 140 and 92 have 2-4 lanes each direction, and although there are lots of traffic lights, they are major thoroughfares and not dinky side streets. If it's a Friday afternoon or the day before a holiday, I'd just go 140 to 92. It may or may not be faster, but less stressful. And you can stop for snacks if necessary. :)
Danestress
Yes, it will be a Friday afternoon:(. Bummer, right? But I am sure 4 or 5 days in Rome Georgia will be totally worth it! 20 would be the worst option.
