Guest jo123
My son recently saw an audiologist and was found to have a CAPD. His specific deficits are in decoding and tolerance fading memory. I am trying to assess which program would be most effective for him and am looking into FastForward, Earobics, Tomatis, The Listening Program and Integrative Listening Systems. Needless to say, I am a little overwhelmed. I really want to make sure I find the most effective program given that many of these programs are costly. Just wondering if anyone has any advice about which programs really work with my son's deficits? Thanks so much Josie
CyndiLJ
We are dealing with this, and I can share what I have learned. We used Earobics first, as it was the lowest cost program at about $65. It was effective to some degree, but it doesn't adjust to the user. Our son hit a certain point where he couldn't go further and was quite frustrated. Fast Forword is very, very expensive, We also found it has worked fairly well and we have seen some results. I have seen over and over again that the Listening Program is a waste of money, and despite the cost of Fast Forword, I don't feel that way. Guest jo123
Great. Thank you so much for your feedback. I heard similar things about the listening program, although I heard tomatis has had some amazing results with all kinds of issues. I am thinking I will try fastforward and see. I would love to do tomatis, but I think it is also really pricey.
