jmc1970
I am thinking of changing my daughters LA curriculum from CLE to FLL. She would be on FLL 3 in the fall. How teacher intensive do you find FLL 3 and does your child find it engaging or a little dry? Any other experiences you may have had with it would be great :) Thanks! m0mmaBuck
Are you going from CLE LA 100 level straight to FLL 3? I'm considering switching to FLL with WWE and Spelling Power in the fall. We finished CLE LA 100 and when I flipped through a copy of FLL 1&2 I had sitting on the shelf I realized we hadn't covered some things and wondered if we should start with a brief overview of that before starting FLL3. jmc1970
We just finished up CLE LA 2 this past year and would either move onto CLE 3 or switch to FLL 3 in the fall. Just am not all that familiar with FLL enough to take the plunge, but am intrigued by it.
fourisenough
No experience with CLE, so I can't advise about placement, but I've done FLL3 (a couple times) and find it quick, painless, and effective! It is teacher-intensive in that you actually teach/work with your child throughout every lesson, however, nearly all lessons can be done in 15 minutes and by being engaged and really knowing what your child is learning (what she 'gets' and what she needs more review on) allows it to be a very efficient program. I added flashcards to review FLL definitions and lists during our memory work time and I also copied each poem (I believe they memorize 6 poems in FLL 3) and placed in page protectors in our memory work binder for frequent review. There were some days that I combined lessons, but not frequently. It is set up to do about 3 lessons per week and takes 15-20 minutes from start to finish.
